Patterson’s absence from Everton explained as Lampard reveals an injury to former Rangers boyfriend

FRANK LAMPARD announced that Nathan Patterson suffered a late injury in his Premier League debut today.

Everton lost 2-1 to West Ham in London this afternoon. Patterson was not included in the day’s squad as he was preparing for his first league start.

Lampard has announced plans to take Patterson with him for a West Ham tour, but plans changed after an injury yesterday.

The Toffees boss says Patterson “sprained his ankle” during pre-match practice.

And he confirmed that Patterson would need a CT scan to find out the extent of the injury.

Lampard said: “Patterson sprained his ankle in training yesterday, which is disappointing given that he is in such a good period after the international break.

“Today (Premier League) he would have played his first match.

“We have to scan it but it might not be the right one.”

Patterson played internationally for Scotland against Poland and Austria, but has not yet appeared in the Premier League for Everton.
