Rangers star Alfredo Morelos has been sidelined for the remainder of the season

The Colombian striker will be a huge loss for Ibrox’s club as he fights at home and on the European front all season.

Rangers confirmed tonight that Morelos was injured while on international duty with Colombia.

The striker has since undergone thigh surgery as he began the rehabilitation process.

In a statement from the club, “After an injury received while on international duty with Colombia, Alfredo Morelos underwent thigh surgery.

“Our healthcare team is satisfied with the outcome of the operation and rehabilitation programs continue.

“He will return to training with A before the season. We wish him success in his rehabilitation period ”.

Morelos will miss Rangers’ Europa League quarter-final against Braga and the Scottish Cup semi-final against Celtic next week.

Of course with six league games left, it looks like the league has to go to Celtic, if not mathematically impossible.

Morelos missed the Old Firm derby against Celtic on Sunday.

He was spotted at Glasgow airport on crutches on his way to London to see a counselor for his injury.
