GIOVANNI VAN BRONCKHORST has confirmed that Rangers will be deprived of the services of Steven Davis for their draw against Red Star Belgrade in the first leg of the round of 16 of the Europa League.
The Premiership champion hosted the Serbs at Ibrox on Thursday night before heading to Marakana next week for a place in the round of 16 of the Europa League.
But Davis will not play a starring role after Van Bronckhorst knocked out the veteran midfielder – he added, adding that the Dutchman will be on the bench of Juventus point guard on loan Aaron Ramsey.
“Davis is not available because he was injured,” Van Brocnkhirst said at a news conference. He said. “We have some doubts for tomorrow but everything will be fine.

“Ramsey will be on the team but he won’t start.
“The most important thing for us is to have individual programs for each player to return to his best performance.
“I’m happy to have Ramsey back and to work hard to get Davis. [Ianis] Hagi too.
