The Twitter account of one of the biggest names in Bitcoin was reactivated after twelve years of inactivity. “This is Fran Finney,” tweeted the profile of Hal Finney, on Friday (16). “I tweet to prevent the account from being deleted by Elon.”
Hal Finney was one of the first Bitcoin testers to connect with Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto. He received 10 Bitcoins from Satoshi on January 12, 2009, becoming the first person in history to receive a Bitcoin transfer.
The fact that Satoshi Nakamoto chose Finney as the first recipient of Bitcoin comes as no surprise. Satoshi had great respect for Hal Finney, who established himself as one of the world’s most brilliant programmers and cryptographers after developing the cryptography system. PGP🇧🇷
Hal also laid a critical foundation for the reusable proof-of-work, which Satoshi would build upon when creating Bitcoin.
As one of the best cryptographers in the world, Hal knew as soon as he found it that Bitcoin was a game changer. In 2008, he described Bitcoin as a “promising idea”.
twitter activated again
Finney’s Twitter account had been inactive since 2010, and in recent days concerns have been raised that it could be taken down as part of Elon Musk’s plans to erase 1.5 billion inactive accounts – inadvertently destroying part of Bitcoin’s history. the process is cleared.
Recently, Elon Musk announced that Twitter will soon release the usernames of 1.5 billion accounts. “These are obvious account deletions with no tweets and no login for years”said Musk.
