Mercado Pago launches the “Indicate and Earn” program for cryptocurrency customers

Mercado Pago, the financial payments arm of Mercado Livre, launched the Indicate e Earn campaign for its clients who invest in cryptocurrencies. The program can give participants up to R$100.00.

From January 2023, Mercado Pago customers can earn BRL 10.00 for every person they refer to the world of cryptocurrencies.

For this, nominees must purchase Bitcoin, Ethereum or the stablecoin pegged to the USDP dollar for the first time through the Mercado Pago application.

Each participant may refer up to 10 people, as provided in the program rules, and receive up to R$100.00 for the referrals.

Mercado Pago will pay benefits to cryptocurrency customers within 72 hours

The benefit paid for a successful referral will be credited to the participating user’s checking account on Mercado Pago within 72 hours of your referral purchasing the cryptocurrency.

For the referral who buys through the Mercado Pago application for the first time, it is necessary to wait up to 72 hours to also make referrals and participate in the program.

Pioneer among digital banks in Brazil in offering the service of buying, selling and storing cryptocurrencies, through its application, Mercado Pago, in partnership with the Paxos company, has already brought together more than 2 million users who have purchased cryptocurrencies through the application.

The terms and conditions of the Mercado Pago campaign can be found on the page informing customers of the details.

Bank continues to bet on the crypto market

The new Mercado Pago campaign featuring cryptocurrencies is just another of the company’s bets on technology. As of 2021, more than 2 million people have purchased cryptocurrencies through the app.

Moreover, Mercado Coin, made in Ethereum, was created to give MercadoLibre customers more options for cashback and purchases. Sold and bought only in the Mercado Pago application itself, each Mercado coin costs R$0.61 today.

In December 2022, the digital bank also launched an educational campaign on cryptocurrencies, so that customers can become better informed about investing in the sector, but also about the risks of business operations.

That is to say, regardless of the general drop in volumes with cryptocurrencies, Mercado Pago continues to bet on technology. The founder of Mercado Livre, the Argentinian Marcus Galperin, is one of the technology enthusiasts.

Mercado Pago, it’s worth remembering, only sells bitcoin to Brazilians and Mexicans, but should soon expand to more countries.
