A luxury rehabilitation center on the Spanish island of Mallorca is opening its doors to “addicted” cryptocurrency traders. Not everyone is mentally resistant to the unstable financial world, which can sometimes feel like an emotional rollercoaster. To help people with this, The Balance in Spain is opening its doors to so-called cryptocurrency addicts.
not just cryptocurrency
By the way, the clinic was not specifically founded to help people with cryptocurrency addiction. The Balance is a Swiss clinic with offices in Mallorca, London and Zurich. People with alcohol, drug and psychological problems can come to the clinic.
Now we learn through a BBC report that the clinic is also opening its doors to cryptocurrency traders who succumb to mental pressure. In it, the BBC writes, among other things, that a trader named “Don” has signed up, who trades cryptocurrencies worth $ 200,000 weekly.
The treatment consists of a four-week program in which The Balance exposes its clients to therapy, massage and yoga, among other things. Incidentally, the program is not designed for the average investor as the bill can be as high as $75,000.
also in Scotland
Balance is certainly not the first rehab center to focus on helping people with a trading addiction. The Castle Craig Hospital in Scotland has a program for people who have fully immersed themselves in cryptocurrency trading since 2018. According to the clinic, it has since seen more than 100 clients who could no longer cope with the pressures of the market.
Most importantly, what this teaches us is that finance is not a game. When you get started with values that seem serious to you, this risk is always in the background. Unfortunately, waking up sweating, loss of concentration and enormous stress are not uncommon in this world.
Making money fast sounds good, but this is the disadvantage that we should certainly not ignore. If you feel stressed by Bitcoin price movements on a daily basis, it might be a good idea to take some money off the table.
Poor sleep and sweating before the flight
Don, who wishes to remain anonymous, shares his experience in this area in an interview with the BBC. After a while, so much money came in and out that he rearranged his entire sleep schedule around it. Don sat behind his screen, staring at the charts late into the night. That’s attractive if, like Don, you make $200,000 a week.
“I started sweating profusely before I took a long flight because I couldn’t access the internet because of it,” Don told the BBC. This is also a strange statement, because if you play with such amounts, it should be possible to get a WiFi connection on the plane.
In that respect, it is still questionable to what extent the anonymous Don of the BBC actually exists. Nowadays, especially in business class, it is possible to purchase a decent internet connection with almost all airlines. In any case, according to Don, The Balance has succeeded in helping him overcome his addiction to cryptocurrencies.
