This famous hacker, known as Monkey Drainer, was responsible for stealing more than R$120 million worth of cryptocurrencies. However, he had the help of several servants, called “companions” by him.
Basically, Monkey Drainer was responsible for the back of the blows, that is, the technical part of the attack. His partners in crime, on the other hand, did the job by tricking victims into entering bogus websites so that their wallets would be emptied.
One of the main lures of these attacks was the launch of fake collections of NFTs. Since airdrops or real sales often reward first comers, such a strategy captivated investors, who didn’t think twice before clicking any link they saw.

Another tactic was the theft of accounts on social networks. With them, Monkey Drainer’s partners were able to create new victims, as few checked the links to the bogus sites.
As for the agreement between the parties, Monkey Drainer only provided the script to other scammers, who took care of the rest. In return, the hacker received 30% of the stolen amount, easy money.
To make matters worse, the demand for their services increased when the hacking practice was denounced by major players in the market. That’s why Monkey Drainer even contacted one of them, wanting to put his name in the spotlight even more.
Business was booming, with more and more scammers looking for the hacker. Despite this, other hackers started to offer the same service at a lower price, but the hacker also took this as an opportunity.
“I get messages every day that you used a different dish rack and the dish rack hit you. The Monkey Drainer has been on site for over 4 months and has not stolen a single worker.”
Monkey Drainer was not only a great programmer, with a script that quickly stole victims’ most valuable cryptocurrencies and NFTs before they could respond, but also proved to be a great seller. Despite this, their callings were not used in the most honest way.
Monkey Drainer announces retirement
After months of scamming his cronies, Monkey Drainer took to his social networks to say he was retiring. “The end of the crème de la crème”began in his text, boasting about his services.
“Unfortunately or fortunately, nothing lasts forever, conducting cybercrime on a large scale is something only those with the highest degree of dedication should consider and I stand by the belief that all young cybercriminals should not get lost in the pursuit of easy money. ”
The hacker then points out that files, servers and devices connected to his services will be shut down immediately and that they will not return. “May all fellow cyber-frighteners prevail”he concluded, showing his love for the life of crime.

Also in the same post, the hacker recommends using a competitor called Venom Drainer, who created his channel yesterday, the same day Monkey Drainer ceased operations. So it’s possible it’s just changing its name and not retiring.
In the only post on this channel, services such as theft of MetaMask, one of the most famous wallets on the market, are presented, as well as other types of scams. Therefore, whether the same person is responsible or not, his associates should migrate to this service and continue to make victims.
“Note: For educational and security research purposes only. No software supplied for illegal use”wraps up the message of the new service, as if anyone would believe it.
Finally, the professionalization of these hackers shows that users need to be increasingly aware of the security of their cryptocurrencies. The main tips are the same as always, don’t click on suspicious links and never act in a hurry, especially if the message has an urgent tone.
