Crypto Recap April 28: 1 year left until the BTC Halving and Weekly Highs

In this video, Axel discusses the latest developments in the cryptocurrency market. He does this on the basis of reporting and technical analysis. This way you are always aware of the latest important crypto-related events within minutes. Let’s watch the news!

Today Axel talks about the highlights of the past week in his news video. For example, we only have one year left until the next Bitcoin Halving, when the reward for a newly mined Bitcoin block is cut in half. It was also announced that Apple is removing the Bitcoin whitepaper from its macOS devices. This document was previously discovered in the operating system of various types of Macbooks. You could only find the whitepaper by typing a special command on your Apple device.

In addition, Axel analyzes last week’s prices in detail and tells you exactly why they were so turbulent.

Bitcoin Halvings: It’s all about the numbers

Bitcoins are planned to be halved every 210,000 blocks, approximately every 4 years, until the network’s maximum supply of 21 million Bitcoins is released. A halving of Bitcoin limits the supply of new coins and if demand remains the same, the price rises. This sounds like an oversimplified representation of reality, but it has happened several times in the past.

The next bitcoin halving is expected to take place in April 2024, when the number of blocks will reach 740,000. At this point, the block reward drops from 6.25 to 3.125 bitcoin. The exact date of the halving is not yet known, as the time it takes to generate new blocks varies.
