Google Launches Program for Crypto and Web3 Startups

Google Cloud announces its intention to support startups and projects in the Web3 sector in building and scaling their businesses. The company is expanding its existing Google for Startups Cloud program and adding Web3-specific benefits.

Web3 technology projects and startups can enroll in the program and be eligible to receive up to $200,000 in Google Cloud credits and technical support over two years.

What exactly is Web3?

Web3 is a term used to describe the third stage of Internet development. The concept focuses on the decentralization of internet services and the creation of peer-to-peer networks using blockchain technology.

These types of companies strive for more privacy, control and ownership for users of internet services. This can be achieved through decentralized applications.

The program also includes access to up to $3 million in investments from the Polygon Ventures Ecosystem Fund, prioritization by the Ventures team, and all the benefits of Polygon Venture.

Earlier this month, the Celo Foundation announced a partnership with Google Cloud to expand early adoption of its services alongside the Celo blockchain ecosystem.
