Acre deputy Fagner Calegário (Podemos-AC) pressured local public authorities to investigate cryptocurrency firm Xland, identified as a potential blow to investors from across Brazil, including player Gustavo Scarpa.
At a regular session, the deputy recalled that many Acre families are suffering losses at the company, which stopped looting in 2022.
With that, the Consumer Protection Committee of the Acre Legislative Assembly is already preparing an action against the possible regulation.
Acre Deputy Presses Authorities to Investigate Plan That Used Image of Cryptocurrencies in Possible Financial Pyramid
In Brazil, financial pyramid schemes have sprung up all over the country in recent years, some of which use the image of cryptocurrencies. And one possible plan involves Xland, which an Acre deputy says has harmed thousands of families in recent months.
According to Fagner Calegário, he has already called the Commission for the Defense of Consumer Rights at Aleac to push for a solution to the matter. He hopes that all forces of the judiciary, Procon-MP, in addition to the state deputies themselves, will unite to investigate the possible coup.
The deputy asks the authorities not to leave the population unattended, recalling that the case gained international notoriety after some of the possibly famous victims, such as Gustavo Scarpa, were spotted among the injured parties.
“We will activate the Consumer Protection Commission, of which I am vice-chairman, to involve all the forces of the judiciary and the police to find out what is going on. Many complaints from people who have been injured have reached me. They report that the public civil proceedings have so far stalled pending a decision.”
The deputy asks all parliamentarians to join forces for an investigation
The delegate continued to insist during his speech at the regular session that many lost all of their saved income, including what “they had under the mattress”.
With that he understands that action must be taken against the Xland case, which put Acre in the national spotlight for a possible financial pyramid scam.
“We must somehow help the Acreans who have been harmed. We hereby invite all delegates to attend the Consumer Protection Commission and together we can help families who have lost their wealth and income as a result of an alleged financial pyramid.”
It is worth remembering that Xland, a payment deferral company, blames FTX for the collapse of its business, claiming that its money was in the cryptocurrency brokerage that went bankrupt in November 2022. Finally, the company claimed it had support in alexandrite stones, and investors are trying to restore values in justice.
