The news released last Tuesday (30) shows that El Salvador continues to receive reinforcements in its pro-bitcoin position. Before Ammous, enthusiasts Max Keizer and Stacy Herbert had already arrived in the country to help with their bitcoin endeavors.

“The Bitcoin Office”, the official government office of El Salvador that deals with matters related to bitcoin, published that the country’s new economic adviser is Saifedean Ammous, author of the “Bitcoin Standard”.

In recent days, the writer traveled to El Salvador and gave lectures at CUBO+, a Salvadoran bitcoiner initiative. The move has trained Bitcoin and Lightning Network developers and helped new people interested in the digital currency gain knowledge.
Saifedean, defender of the Austrian economy, also shared with the president his vision of a policy of economic freedom.
Writer denied wages and wants to work voluntarily
In a statement, the El Salvador Bitcoin Office stated that Dr. Ammous refused any compensation for the position. That’s because he’s only interested in supporting President Bukele’s bold policies of economic freedom and bitcoin, on a voluntary basis.

A champion of a libertarian economy, Ammous has brushed aside critics of his involvement in government, indicating that he has not become a country official, but merely an adviser interested in helping a nation that has adopted bitcoin as its currency.
