The Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI), which intends to investigate the financial pyramids that have been operating in the cryptocurrency market in recent years, won the date to get to work.
As published this Thursday (1), the date for the first meeting of the Commission is next Tuesday (6) at 2 pm.
The first meeting, which is considered installation and where an election of members will take place, is expected to take place in Plenary Session 9 of Annex II, of the Chamber of Deputies in Brasília.
CPI of cryptocurrencies should investigate financial pyramids that have gone unpunished in recent years
The CPI of cryptocurrencies is a hope for those investors of some companies in Brazil who have been harmed by scams.
Some, like those who trusted Atlas Quantum, are still publicly searching for answers, as the company vanished with billions of reais and was never the target of a police operation in Brazil.
Its leader, Rodrigo Marques, has already been spotted outside Brazil living a life of luxury as Brazilians remain in agony after lifelong losses as a result of the scheme.
In addition to Atlas, other companies that have gone unpunished in Brazil by defrauding investors should also be targeted by the authorities.
The presidency law, signed last Wednesday (31/5) by Arthur Lira, stipulates that work must begin next week.
CPI has 120 days of debates to investigate crimes
From the date of installation of the CPI on Cryptocurrencies, the 120-day period begins for parliamentarians to discuss the issues in the sector.
The deadline can be extended, but a new approval is required. In any case, over the next four months, various parliamentarians must be involved in verifying documents, including speaking with witnesses, who must cooperate in drawing up a final report.
When the CPI on Cryptocurrencies comes to an end, a recommendation is expected to punish those responsible for setting up fraudulent schemes in Brazil. In recent years, several families have lost a lot of money by relying on bogus get-rich-quick schemes associated with the image of cryptocurrencies.

With the request approved, author Aureo Ribeiro (SD-RJ) is one of those who will join the CPI discussions on cryptocurrency pyramids.
In addition to him, several other parliamentarians must participate in the calculation, and next Tuesday the chairmen and vice-chairmen of the committee will be chosen. The list of which parliamentarians should participate can be seen below.
After the election of the main leaders of the CPI, the market is waiting for a work plan to follow the public debates in the coming months.
