The defense of actress Tata Werneck, currently on Rede Globo, tried to anticipate her testimony at the CPI of the Cryptocurrency Financial Pyramids in Brasília, scheduled for August 15, 2023.
This is because his defense was seeking an injunction requesting that he be banned from all advertisements using his image conveyed by Atlas Quantum, with whom he had a contract.
The defense of the actress tried to argue that her contract started five years ago, that is, it has already expired and the company should no longer continue to use her image.
It is worth remembering that Atlas Quantum and its partners have been accused by customers of running a billionaire scam in Brazil. The prime suspect, Rodrigo Marques, has already fled the country and has not responded to his company’s investors.
The trail of losses caused by Atlas in billions of reais, with updated bitcoin values, may even surpass recent scams that have had repercussions in Brazil, such as Braiscompany and Sheik dos Bitcoins, also targets of the CPI. However, the São Paulo company has so far never seen itself in the crosshairs of the authorities.
Tata Werneck has rejected a writ of execution by the court of Rio de Janeiro
The “contract has already expired” was the argument used by the actress’s defense to force the end of the publication of her image on pages of Atlas Quantum.
According to O Globo, the 1st Special Civil Court of Barra da Tijuca rejected the actress’s request last Thursday (10). She argued that since the contract expired five years ago, Atlas Quantum could no longer use her image, whether through videos, photos or voice.
According to the actress, Tata Werneck became aware of the active use of her image when she was called to testify at the Financial Pyramids CPI. She should appear in Brasília on August 15 to explain details about how Atlas Quantum works.
But justice denied the actress’s request for an injunction, claiming that she must hear Atlas Quantum first, then award a favorable or unfavorable injunction to the actress.
Marcelo Tas and Cauã Reymond were also called to testify at the CPI
The CPI of Cryptocurrencies began its work with the intention of investigating crimes that have attracted attention in recent years with financial pyramid schemes.
On the day that Tata Werneck has to testify, the equally famous Marcelo Tas and Cauã Reymond are summoned. Others who will testify on the same date are the company’s partners, Rodrigo Marques and Fabrício Sanfelice.
Investors with money tied up in the scheme are waiting for testimonials, seeking answers about the company’s end.
