After the invasion of the country of Liberland, which adopted bitcoin as a means of payment in its system, Croatia installed a new surveillance system against local residents.
As reported by Livecoins In recent days, Croatia carried out an invasion of Liberland that shocked the residents of the small country.
This is because Croatian police not only destroyed people’s homes, but also seized some of their personal belongings. And because Liberland has already declared itself an independent micronation and even enjoys recognition from Europe and other countries, this episode was ultimately considered a territorial invasion.
The history of the country whose motto is the ‘land of the free’ is now in a difficult moment, a moment of extreme vigilance.
Croatia is installing surveillance systems in a country that has adopted bitcoin as a means of payment
Stating that the “Croatian Border Police is wasting resources”, Liberland’s current government has warned of a new threat to its territory. This is because the police in neighboring Croatia are installing cameras that record audio and images.
The information was released last Wednesday (27) on X, formerly Twitter. According to the information, the country has released the new mass surveillance system against its citizens. The system was installed a day earlier, on September 26, 2023.
“On September 26, 2023, CBP introduced a massive Ericsson surveillance device in Liberland, capable of 360° video and likely audio recording.”

After 24 hours, on September 27, last Wednesday, the system was changed again, to a camera in a tree. The government said there is no point in Croatia continuing with its action as the population is peaceful.
“24 hours later they removed the Ericsson device and replaced it with a small camera in a tree. Why does CBP continue to monitor the activities of peaceful and happy people building on Liberland land? This does not do Croatia and the surrounding municipalities any good.”
Liberland, an idea of a free country for free people
The creation of Liberland was a response to a long-running dispute between Croatia and Serbia over the border that arose after the Croatian War of Independence in the 1990s.
Vít Jedlička, the current president, claimed that the land on which Liberland was located was a “no-man’s land” of about 7 square kilometers, unclaimed by either country.
He argued that this land was available under international law to be claimed as a new independent state.
Now Liberland’s government is struggling to adopt the rights and obligations set out in the Montevideo Convention on the Rights and Duties of States, held in Uruguay’s capital in 1933, which the government published last Friday (29).
“We aim to meet the criteria of the 1933 Montevideo Convention for statehood. Be part of a new era of freedom and prosperity!”
