That is why it is important that Bitcoin inventor Satoshi remains anonymous

Anyone who does anything with Bitcoin sometimes wonders which brilliant mind came up with all this, i.e. who is Satoshi Nakamoto? We also speculate about this. But economist Lyn Alden argues that it is better not to know.

“Bitcoin was designed as a decentralized, open-source project to survive regardless of who created it,” says Alden.

“People often say in a negative way that Bitcoin is a religion.” But in reality, parts of it are a religion, or at least a movement. If it only has 27 million followers, it could be the sixth religion.”

She also points out that the rumor circulating about Nakamoto’s alleged ties to the US National Security Agency may not be as accurate as widely believed.

“Even if Satoshi is from the NSA, people should have already proven that. A man can be killed, ashamed or shown weak. An idea lives on and becomes a legend or a god. It’s his material that counts.”
