What is BitcoinTalk?

Satoshi Nakamoto founded the Bitcoin Forum in 2009. He migrated to the domain bitcointalk.org in 2011. This domain was registered by Jeff Garzik and is currently operated under the pseudonym “theymos” along with several other contributors.

Yesterday they made it clear that BitcoinTalk should ban a topic. From January 1, blenders are prohibited.

Administrator theymos writes:

“Bitcointalk.org strives to allow as much freedom as possible.” However, this is not a darknet forum, and because mixers are ‘getting grayer’, it is no longer reasonably possible to allow links to mixers.”

Censorship is incompatible with Bitcoin

But how can we justify censorship when all Bitcoin values ​​point the other way? He (or she) explains that some decisions have to be made because law enforcement has acted before and taken entire platforms offline.

His decision will take effect on January 1. To avoid confusion, here is an explanation of what a blender is:

“Something is considered a mixer if it meets all of these requirements:

What does this mean in practice? All discussions on this topic will be archived on New Year’s Eve. To prevent Mixer from becoming a major problem in the future, all users who refer people to Mixer can be blocked and subscriptions that mention these privacy services can be removed.
