a Paradigm Educationvoted in Brazil as the country’s best cryptocurrency research house in 2023, this Monday (18) launches a book that costs BRL 6969.69. The work is an anthology of texts about the technology, economics and culture behind Bitcoin. No book for sale on Amazon beats that price.
According to a statement sent to Livecoins, the book has an edition of only 50 copies, all with different covers. Each one has a built-in electronic chip, which functions as a cryptocurrency wallet. It contains an NFT, which can be read via mobile phone and gives lifelong access to the company’s subscription.
The book “A coffee with Satoshi” was written by Felipe Sant Ana, co-founder of Paradigma, and the foreword was written by Fernando Ulrichauthor of the country’s first book on Bitcoin, 10 years ago.
“I always wanted to have a book in my library that highlighted the most unconventional aspects of Bitcoin. Something I could show a visitor and surprise them about cryptocurrency – instead of being overwhelmed by jargon, or confused.” — Felipe explains.
The book has a fine finish, with orange borders, ribbon, infographics and a dust jacket for framing.

A cup of coffee with Satoshi – The most expensive book in Brazil
Felipe says this is the first truly ‘phygital’ book in the country. That is, with a physical side and a digital side, both of which are inseparable. “It’s not just an NFT that you ‘trade’ for a physical object; or an item that gives an NFT as a gift. The ledger is literally a crypto wallet, with a non-transferable NFT, which is like your ‘digital soul’.”.
The price is shocking, but Felipe disagrees: “People pay a lot more for virtual monkey figures. And the lifetime subscription is cheaper than the market average.”
A digital version of the work, for Kindle, will be released for free on January 3, Bitcoin’s 15th anniversary. Felipe says the nonsense is intentional:
“Crypto is used to experiment with new models of content production. In this case, you need to monetize the collectible aspect of a rare artifact… and let that ‘patronage’ subsidize the free distribution of the underlying knowledge.”
The book has 21 chapters, with titles such as “Nakamoto’s Ministry of Culture”, “Carpe Millennium” and “A Peace Treaty Signed on Chain”. The graphic design is by Polar, LTDA. The photos are by Beatriz Pinho.
