Man who claims to be the creator of Bitcoin wants to drop the lawsuit

Craig Steven Wrightan Australian computer scientist who claims to be the creator of Bitcoin proposed a proposal COPA (Crypto Open Patent Alliance) ending a case against him before it even begins.

This process will begin on February 5 and will take approximately 40 days if COPA does not accept the proposal. The purpose of COPA is to prove that Wright is not Satoshi Nakamoto, as he claims to be.

“In February, I will face a group of individuals and corporate entities at the High Court in London, where I plan to defend my intellectual property rights to Bitcoin as creator.”Wright began in his proposal.

In addition to the COPA lawsuit against CSW, the Australian also intends to close 3 other lawsuits initiated by him. On the other side are the developers of Coinbase, Payward, and Bitcoin, all of whom have been sued by Wright in recent years.

Craig Wright files a motion to dismiss the motion against him, but the terms may not be to the satisfaction of the opposing parties

Craig Steven Wright, a big fan of Thomas Edison, the man who stole Nikola Tesla’s ideas, has about 800 patents and another 3,000 pending. Many of them involve Bitcoin and blockchain technology in general, which could threaten the future development of this ecosystem.

Famous for suing companies and developers in the sector, Wright got a taste of it when an association decided to sue him and promised to put an end to his speeches. More specifically, COPA wants to prove that CSW is not Satoshi Nakamoto.

Perhaps fearing the outcome of this trial, Wright published this Wednesday (24) a proposal to COPA to end the case before it even started.

At first, Wright says he’s refocusing his personal priorities and wanting to spend more time with his family. So maybe this ~40 day process is too much for him. However, the terms should not please the counterparties.

“By signing the following, the Opposition (to which all COPA members belong) and I now confirm that the following statement is true and agree to its terms”Wright emphasizes.

“Bitcoins (and derivative systems) referred to as BSV, BTC, BCH and ABC (collectively “Bitcoins”), and their associated databases are separate and distinct”the text continues. “I/we are committed to ensuring that Bitcoins are widely used for the benefit of humanity and not for money laundering, tax evasion, or aiding any other illegal behavior.”

In other words: a deception for the Australian to continue claiming that he is Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin. The full terms and conditions can be read in the article published on Wright’s blog.

The parties involved in the lawsuit have 7 days to respond to Wright’s proposal. If they do not agree, we will follow a historic process in the coming months.

As regards CUPthe association consists of industry giants, including Block, MicroStrategy, Coinbase, Ark, Kraken, OKX, WorldCoin, Blockstream, Uniswap and even Meta (formerly Facebook).
