Scammers create fake LUNA 2.0 and send millions of tokens to Vitalik Buterin

With the launch of Luna 2.0 imminent, it was to be expected that criminals in the crypto market would take advantage of it to use various forms of scams.

When analyzing the Ethereum blockchain, it is possible to notice that the contract address Packaged MOON 2.0 millions of Luna 2.0 tokens issued and the transferred to the official addresses of Vitalik ButerinThree arrows capitalJustin Sun and other influencers.

According to PeckShieldAlert, a Twitter profile focused on cryptocurrency security updates, the scammers sent the Wrapped LUNA 2.0 to an official Earth dealer and to the addresses listed above.

According to the security firm, the idea of doing these layers of transfers is to try to mislead people by superficially looking at transactions that the airdrop is being made by Terraform.

“PeckShield has discovered that scammers are sending Wrapped LUNA 2.0 to Terra Distributor then to Vitalik Buterin, a16z, Three Arrows Capital, Justin Sun.

This is to mislead people into impersonating an official Terraforms distributor.”

Transactions to popular wallets such as Justin Sun’s addresses and the ENS address vitalik.eth add more “credibility” to the contract page issuing the fake LUNA 2.0.

The idea is to have less knowledgeable users send their coins to the scammer’s contract address.

So far, the scam seems to have done no harm to the victims nor has it attracted people who send coins in the contract. So far, the only trades are flagged by PeckShield.

LUNA 2.0 is indeed on its way to release and Terraform Labs is in the final moments for the “Rebirth of Luna” to begin. However, it is precisely at this time that scams start to become more common and extensive.

The most important thing at this point is to be very careful with any promise of an airdrop from Luna and only trust the official information released by Terraform Labs official pages and websites.

This kind of advice works for any other project or promise to receive airdrops. Fake airdrops can cause millionaire losses.
