Concerned trade unions ask the cabinet for clarity about the energy transition

“Change is a responsible transition, led by everyone. Transition that must happen in 15 years, not 15 days. Without exploration, there is no paradise,” he noted.

“I am a strong supporter of the energy transition and I celebrate all the actions the country is taking to achieve a 51% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and carbon neutrality until 2050, but it must be done responsibly,” explains Lozano.

He pointed out that the energy industry makes 8.1% of the contribution total emissions from Colombiaaccording to the 2018 BUR3. This is compared to the agriculture, forestry and other land use sector contributing 59.1%, and transport contributing 12.5%.
