The only check, pay attention to the dates: until when the app needs to be updated

A single check is more important but also easier to get. There are many innovations regarding the single and general allowance for dependent children for the year 2023, which has just started. In the coming month, those who benefit from the bonus will receive a larger amount thanks to the regulation introduced by the Meloni government in Maneuver against the rapid rise in inflation. But be careful, according to the new rules, only those who provide an updated Isee will be able to receive a “reissued” check.

The only control is 2023, watch out for Isee

From 1 March 2023, it will be easier to receive a single and general allowance for dependent children. In fact, INPS will automatically continue to pay for those who already use it. Only those requesting the check for the first time will apply, while those who have to report changes will be able to update the existing application using the online procedure available on the INPS website. The following January and February 2023 will be calculated based on Isee 2022 or Isee 2023 if available.

From March, the amount will be determined according to Isee 2023 or, in the absence of Isee 2023, the check will be calculated according to the minimum values prescribed by law, subject to adjustment with all debts in the event. Isee’s presentation is until 30 June. Please note that through the official website of the pension institution, it is possible to access the pre-compiled ISEE with information on adult family members, with their own digital identity, who can authorize the declarant to use their data. .

Obviously, it is not mandatory to submit a new single check application, those who have already received the check will automatically receive the new annual salary starting from March 2023 to March 2024. But the rules are very strict so as not to lose a single euro.

When to update the application: deadlines

In fact, there is until 28 February to submit the Dsu (single substitution statement) to INPS and receive the update of the indicator, otherwise only a minimum of 50 euros per child will be paid from March. Currently, around 20 percent of beneficiaries are granted a single allowance in the absence of an ISEE. In practice, many families did not offer Isee and therefore receive the minimum amount. For example, it is surprising that ISEE was not offered for 42,899 children with disabilities who were theoretically eligible for a slightly higher amount. Maybe the bureaucracy needs to be modernized or maybe the communication is not clear about it.

The same deadline at the end of February must also be met by approximately 350 thousand households where amounts are recognized along with basic income, so renewal of ISEE is required twice to maintain both benefits. Obviously, anyone who has faced the birth of a child, a change/addition of disability, separation, a change of Iban, or one of the children becoming an adult in the past year.

Attract more “rich” in 2023

The 2023 budget law introduces significant changes in the amounts to be paid for families with a child younger than one year of age to benefit from a single and general allowance, and for large families with three or more dependent children with at least one child between the ages of one and one. three years. Specifically, for the year that started two weeks ago, the following has been formally established:

  • 50% increase in flat rate increase for households with at least 4 children increases to 150 euros per month per household, 50 euros more than the current amount (100 euros).
  • 50% increase in allowance for large families with three or more dependent children, limited to children aged one to three, where the amount payable per child increases by 50% for ISEE levels up to EUR 40,000;
  • 50% increase in the allowance to be applied to the amounts payable according to the reference ISEE brackets for families with children under 1 year old.

So in these last two cases the check amount will be a minimum of 75 and a maximum of 262.50 euros, instead of fluctuating between 50 and 175 euros in current values (as an ISEE of 40 thousand euros is today 50 euros for a minor). The budget law also intervenes in favor of households with a disabled child by ensuring that the increases recognized in 2022 are paid.

Single check increments: amounts

According to the law, the revalued hikes will be paid from February 2023 as a result, with the right to make any adjustments from January 2023. If you have to wait until mid-January for the ministerial decree, the technical report budget bill is already an indication of the exact amount, since it assumes the maximum increase is about 94 euros per month. This amount is reached by applying a 7.3% revaluation (the same as used for pensions) to 87.5 euros (a 50% increase based on the current maximum value of Au). Finally, the 120 Euro increase (so far only valid in 2022) of the increase granted to families with Isee not exceeding 25 thousand Euros receiving allowance for the family unit in 2021 has been fixed.

From March to November 2022, a total of 11.6 billion euro checks were distributed to households. Considering an audience of approximately 5.6 million applications and 9.1 million children benefiting from at least one month’s salary, the expenditure on households without CI equals 11.1 billion euros; the average monthly amounts were 233 euros per applicant and 146 euros per child.

Referring to approximately 835,000 dependent children, there are 493,000 households receiving a basic income with at least one monthly payment integrated into the single allowance, of which approximately 480,000 are exclusively CI recipients. For them, we continued to calculate the integration of the allowance by subtracting the share of the Citizenship Income for children who are part of the family nucleus, from the theoretical amount of the allowance payable; the average monthly amount of this integration was equal to 166 euros per core.

For households not receiving social security benefits, approximately 47% of the allowances paid per child belong to beneficiaries of households with an ISEE of less than EUR 15,000; On the other hand, approximately 23% of children belong to families who have not applied to ISEE. For them, the average amount per child, including applicable increases, ranges from just under 50 euros (for those who do not present an ISEE certificate or exceeds 40,000 euros) to 195 euros for ISEE classes, compared to November. 15 thousand euros. The basic amount of the allowance for each minor child varies from a minimum of 50 Euros in the absence of an increase to a maximum of 175 Euros for Isee in the absence of Isee or if Isee is equal to or more than 40 thousand Euros. up to 15 thousand euros.
