Avianca confirmed that the company and its shareholders believe that JetSMART’s statement of interest in buying 100% of Viva Air’s shares is trying to distract from Viva and Avianca’s integration request.
In a statement, the airline confirms that the JetSMART proposal is “clearly unfeasible” and that “it is not a viable option to solve the Viva crisis”.
He assures that neither Avianca nor its shareholders have received offers to transfer their economic participation in Viva.
“Avianca and its shareholders reiterate that their intention to make Avianca and Viva part of the same business group remains intact, and they rely on the timely response of the authority so that the rescue of Viva, the connectivity of the Colombian regions, the provision of the essential service of air transportation and maintaining formal jobs,” the airline says.
