The Superintendent of Transportation could request the opening of insolvency proceedings against Viva Air if it deems it necessary, Superintendent of Companies Billy Escobar assured.
The supersociedades explained that the functions of inspection, supervision and control over Viva are fully exercised by the Superintendence of Transport in accordance with the provisions of the corresponding legislation, as well as the rulings on the definition of powers issued by the Council of State, between both supervisions.
“Examples of the foregoing, that is, of the comprehensive oversight exercised by the Superintendency of Transportation over companies that provide or target public transportation and/or develop operations related to transit, transportation, the infrastructure, and the services.” and complementary, are the actions that the said authority has carried out in the past on Interjet (ABC Aerolíneas SA de CV Colombia Branch Interjet), CAP Technologies (CAP Technologies SAS), Concesionaria Ruta del Sol SAS, among others,” said Escobar.
