Petro and Mac Master discussed health and labor reforms

President Gustavo Petro and National Association of Entrepreneurs (ANDI) president Bruce Mac Master met Thursday to discuss the health and labor reforms currently being promoted by the national government.

The president invited Andi’s president to discuss these initiatives that will be passed on to Congress. The Minister of Trade, Industry and Tourism, Germán Umaña, also participated in this meeting.

“We had the opportunity to talk about the two reforms and we presented our comments on the health issue, which we had already adopted in writing, and also the position on the labor reform,” Mac Master said.

He indicated that in the case of health, the president was asked not to present a breakdown in health care under any circumstances and to guarantee that Colombians will have a continuous and improved service, both in rural and urban areas.

“In the case of the labor reform, we ask that you be very careful that you do not generate unemployment through overflows or strict regulation, especially in a year when we are concerned about economic activity, unemployment, formality and the ability to support the popular economy he added.
