UWV is postponing the filing round for STAP education budget to March 17. There was a massive cut on Tuesday, where no one could apply for a subsidy of 1000 euros.
There are several registration times each year for the popular program where you can queue up online in advance. According to UWV, 300,000 people waited twice as long as usual before Tuesday’s start.
The agency says it went wrong due to “a combination of a technical error and a large crowd.” “We are very sorry and apologize again for that,” says Ronald van Zijp, national director of UWV STAP.
“Of course we tried to fix the problem right away, but we quickly realized that it wouldn’t work. We had to make the decision to postpone the opening.”
gifts and candy trips
Due to the huge popularity of funding, people often stuck behind the net when they wanted to submit an application last year. The previous round of applications for the STAP budget was also delayed due to the Ministry of Social Affairs’ desire to take measures against abuse.
For example, instructors handed out gifts or took their students on trips. This is no longer allowed under the new rules. Effective immediately, instructors cannot accept more than 300 course participants per year.
