In January 2023, the country’s exports amounted to US$3,694.9 million, a decrease of 2.8% compared to the same period in 2022, which amounted to US$3,801.6 million.
According to the export information processed by the National Administrative Bureau of Statistics (Dane) and the Directorate of National Taxes and Customs (Dian), this result was mainly due to the fuel group’s external sales decrease of 4.5%.
In the reference month, the export of fuels and products from the extractive industries contributed 54.6% of the total value of exports. Similarly, manufacturing at 18.7%, agriculture, food and beverage at 19.9% and other sectors at 6.8%.
For its part, 11,378.5 million barrels of crude oil were exported in January 2023, a decrease of 17.4% from January 2022.
In turn, Colombia’s exports amounted to $3,066.1 million in January 2019. When comparing the first month of 2023 with the same month of 2019, an increase of 20.5% is recorded.
“This result is mainly due to the increase in external sales of 23% in the fuels and industrial products group and 110.4% in the other sectors group,” said Dane.
