He confirmed that the initiative will be presented on this March 16 before Congress of the Republic.
He stressed that the centerpiece of the labor reform will be stability and indefinite contracts. “Removing rights is not the way to create employment,” he said.
He added that one of the objectives is to look for sustainable, powerful and productive companies, but without job insecurity.
He reiterated the importance of restoring workers’ rights that were “lost with the enactment of Law 789 of 2002”.
“The we want nightly allowances and overtime back to the workers, let’s not forget that the goal of this law was to create almost 600,000 jobs in one year, sacrificing labor rights, and only 240,000 jobs were achieved, that is, the goal was not achieved, but for more than 21 years as there has been a cut in duties,’ he added.
