Gerard Sanderink has been suspended from his duties as CEOs of construction company Strukton and engineering firm Oranjewoud with immediate effect. Strukton announces this on its website. The supervisory board will immediately take over the management in its own words, in the interests of the company, its employees and other stakeholders.
Last year, it emerged that Sanderink, along with former Strukton board members, was suspected of bribing a project in Saudi Arabia. It is unknown whether this played a role in this decision.
As Strukton’s press release states, Sanderink is regularly discredited: “The Board made this decision after a series of events involving Mr. Sanderink.”
