More than 2000 companies are participating in the Macro Round of the Regions

With the participation of more than two thousand companies, between national and international, who will fulfill business agreements, ProColombia will be between March 22 and 23 the Macro Round of the Regions at the Puerta de Oro event center in Barranquilla.

This meeting will bring the supply of 1,436 companies from 24 Colombian departments closer to international demand, which will be represented by 618 companies from 44 countries.

There will be 162 participants from Atlántico, including 35 from the agri-food; 25 of industries 4.0; 44 of metalworking and other industries; 33 of chemistry and life sciences; and 25 of the fashion system.

For this edition, Nariño and Venezuela will be present as special guests, a decision that aims to boost our country’s internationalization practices and strengthen economic relationship in various sectors.

International participation will have a special emphasis on the Latin American and Caribbean markets, which represent 64% of all foreign participants.

Additional activities

The Internationalization Solutions Block is on the agenda of the event, a complementary and parallel activity that consists of having a public and private institutional offering of services that support the business processes of Colombian exporters. 14 additional public entities to the MinCIT and their assets such as iNNpulsa, such as the ICA, and 18 private entities including law firms, logistics services and consultancies will participate; binational chambers and international entities such as the IPD, Puerto de Algeciras, SR Legal de Costa Rica, among others, to address your requests and concerns in your business processes.

March 23 will see the Productive Linkage Round, a space led by Colombia Productiva to facilitate alliance building and portfolio expansion with Colombian companies that have supply needs and will attend one-to-one meetings in the framework of the macro wheel.

There will be validation sessions, spaces with international buyers where they present the specific requirements of the market, making it possible to identify the gaps to be closed in order to achieve effective and sustainable exports in the long run.

Field visits with international buyers will also teach about the prolific and exportable offerings of associations, cooperatives and other high social value business initiatives and communities in the Caribbean region.

And an academic agenda of two panels, each lasting 30 minutes, moderated by an ally and five participating panelists, emphasizing the representation of women, youth and other differential populations representing companies of various sizes, with a focus on mSMEs. , productive chains and regions, with special participation of companies from Nariño’s invited department.

The macroround, which is carried out with the support of the Atlántico Governor’s Office, the Barranquilla Mayor’s Office, ProBarranquilla and the Cartagena Port Society, will include several novelties.

Atlantic export figures

According to figures from Dane, the department’s exports of goods and services recorded more than $2,110 million in 2022, a figure that increased by 32% compared to that recorded in 2021.

The main export markets were the United States, Brazil, China, Mexico and Egypt. In addition, international sales of over USD 158 million were recorded in January 2023.
