Transport bonus, we’re finally here. In 2022, for those with a total income of less than 20 thousand Euros, the operation of the 60 Euro coupon is almost given the green light. In recent days, ministers Giorgetti, Calderone and Salvini signed the decree. The goal is to give families, students, and workers some assistance in purchasing transit passes.
That’s why we’re at the finish line. During the questioning hour in the Assembly on Wednesday, March 29, Minister of Labor and Social Policies Marina Calderone said that the transportation bonus is being finalized and will be paid “from April”. The minister later stated that “the implementing decree was signed by the ministers and sent to the Court of Accounts on 28 March”. Again, he said it was “a tangible aid to the lowest income group”.
How to claim a bonus
Calderone announced that the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies platform will be activated to claim bonuses after obtaining the visa from the SAI (“hopefully coming soon”). The application must be submitted by logging into the portal from this link and registering with Spid or electronic identity card (Cie).
The bonus can be claimed for himself or a financially dependent minor beneficiary and will include a contribution (maximum EUR 60) for the purchase of a single annual, monthly or multi-month subscription for the local. for regional and interregional public transport services or national rail transport services.
It will be used within the month of publication.
The bonus must be used within the calendar month it was awarded. It is personal, non-transferable and does not constitute taxable income. The aid will be financed by the Ministry of Labour, with 100 million euros. The only condition is the applicant’s income, which in 2022 must not exceed 20 thousand euros. “This intervention reaffirms the utmost importance that the Department of Labor and the entire government attaches to sustained and effective support for the most vulnerable sections of the population,” Minister Calderone concluded.
