Poste Italiane closes 2022 well, confirming that it is well positioned to continue on a path of continued growth in a challenging context thanks to its diversified business model. Poste Italiane is transforming itself from a traditional logistics operator to an omnichannel distribution platform, leveraging strategic investments in technology and data-driven functions. In 2022, total revenues increased by 6.6% to 11.9 billion euros. The operating result, which was equal to 2.29 billion, was +24.1% compared to the previous 1.8 billion. This figure is more than double the 2017 level, the same goes for net income of 1.51 billion (0.7 billion in 2017).
2023 forecast
For 2023, the Group expects to achieve an operating result of €2.5 billion with the contribution of all business sectors, which more than offsets the negative effects of inflation on the costs and start-up costs of the Poste Energia business. Profit estimates are 1.7 billion euros.
“Based on our performance, we are increasing our 2022 dividend and 2023 target relative to our original targets by setting a dividend of 65 euro cents per share, a 10% increase over last year’s level, and a dividend based on 2022 results. Target 71 euro cents per share based on 2023 results, 9% year-on-year increase,” concluded Matteo Del Fante.
