The four poles Fs told by art

The new organizational structure of the FS Italiane Group told through contemporary art. Starting from this premise, the first of a series of initiatives to accompany and reinterpret, with creativity and innovation, the transformation of Ferrovie dello Stato with its four new business centers started from this premise in recent days at the Farini shipyard in Milan: Infrastructure, Passengers, Logistic and Urban, was born with the aim of developing an infrastructure and mobility system that is increasingly integrated and sustainable for the benefit of the country. for a “15-minute city”, with services and functions at hand, urban centers on a human scale, green spaces and sociability where urban repair is carried out without greater consumption of the soil. With this artistic project, the FS Italiane Group led by Luigi Ferraris intends to embrace and communicate the values in which the company wants to invest, such as innovation, the power of transformation, the importance of change and regeneration, an invitation to reflect on what railroads themselves wanted to call the “new time” when presenting their 2022-2031 ten-year business plan in May 2022.

THE URBAN CENTER – With the support of the Hdrà group and artistic curator Renato Fontana, Take your time by FS Italiane began its journey through Italy from the Polo Urbano in Milan, at which time Umberto Lebruto, managing director of FS Sistemi Urbani, the main company of the Polo Urbano , wanted to recall how Ferrovie dello Stato intends to make the group’s assets no longer functional for railway operations, present throughout the national network, available to citizens, giving them a new life. “In what way? Especially one that regenerates the neighborhood from an urban point of view, through social, economic and above all environmental well-being», explains the head of Polo Urbano’s leading company: «What we would like to leave behind in Milan is a a clear sign of integrated mobility between urban and rail, bridging the historic gap represented by unused rail infrastructures, leaving functions of social well-being and, above all, environmental sustainability to citizens. want to invest in this airport.” Meanwhile, the city is preparing to see the birth of a new residential, office and hotel district, with more than 65% dedicated to public green spaces and social housing solutions.

THE FIRST STAGE OF THE PROJECT AND THE WORKS – The focus of the four artistic installations presented at Scalo Farini last Tuesday, on the occasion of the first stage of Take your time, was placed on the sustainable cities of the future, interpreted and read through contemporary works of art that underlined the connection between cities, human needs, territory and nature. On the occasion, the plastic artist Jonathan Calugi created the work A little house like this, which saw the Scalo Farini building – in the recovered area of the FS Group’s Polo Urbano – decorated with a pattern in which nature, human faces and virtuous behavior create a motive of great visual impact and value. Instead, Luca Font and Alkanoids curated the installations Un Gigante in love where, thanks to augmented reality, a giant’s tattoos magically come to life creating an immersive experience, and La Mano, where again with augmented reality the hand of the giant indicates the directions for the city of the future, interpreting the idea of sustainability of the Urban Pole. Finally, the artist Parigi1876 conceived and curated the work Light Design, an installation of light powered by solar panels that intends to respond interactively to the question: what city and what rhythm will there be in your life? In the four installations, places and time become two intimately connected dimensions, capable of transmitting inner calm to take the necessary time to claim a space to explore and interpret.
