Tesla has recalled just over 400 Model 3 vehicles in the US because front suspension side link mounts may be loose.
Tesla will tighten or replace the side link mounts to fix a problem that could allow the side link to separate from the subframe in models withdrawn from 2018 and 2019.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has stated that lateral traction separation can lead to a change in wheel alignment. causing instability and increasing the risk of an accident.
Tesla has said it has 25 warranty claims and 2 field reports since January 2019 that are or may be related to the recall. but there are no reports of accidents or injuries.
New car recall extension of one held in 2021 on the same issue covers nearly 2,800 Model 3 vehicles from 2019 to 2021 and Tesla Model Y from 2020 to 2021.
This recall came after Tesla said that escalation 39 service repairs if one or both of the front suspension side link mounts were loose or missing.
