Businessman Germán Efromovich offered a dollar to buy 100% of the shares of the airline Ultra Air, which ceased operations at the end of March due to economic problems.
Born in Bolivia, Efromovich is of Colombian and Brazilian nationality, was the owner of Avianca and participates in companies in various economic sectors in the region.
According to a letter published by Semana magazine, Efromovich’s proposal is based on the fact that the low-cost carrier would be valued at zero due to its critical financial situation.
For example, the businessman assures that it is a “symbolic amount” and points out in the letter that it was issued by Capital magazine. which would be used to “acquire all loans that the company holds from its shareholders, which is reported by the company to amount to COP$27,207,000,000. Payment will be made within five (5) days of the date the due diligence is completed on terms satisfactory to the investors”.
