The Automundial company is investing USD 2,300 million in the Caribbean coast in two projects: the expansion of the retreading plant in Galapa and the improvement of the infrastructure in the Cartagena Service Center (CDS).
With the expansion of the retreading plant for the truck line in Galapa Atlántico, OTR tire retreading processes will not only take place for mining and off-road transportation, but also for trucks, buses and heavy vehicles.
It is the company’s seventh retreading plant in Colombia, from where it will support heavy-duty tires for the entire Caribbean region.
“This investment of more than 2,300 million pesos is intended to encourage savings in the region’s transport sector as we concentrate all services in one place,” said José Miguel Carreira, general manager of Automundial.
“Undoubtedly, bringing to the region and country new models of transportation customer service, such as the Cartagena CDS, follows the latest global trends in this market and state-of-the-art technology for this headquarters and the new Galapa renewal factory, which, in addition to the always offering improvements in the final products, it supports the care of the environment and the region,” said Oscar Nocua, Automundial Atlantic Coast Regional Director.
