Does the bonus come on the thirteenth of the month? The government thinks that

One of the measures the government is working on is to lower taxes on the thirteenth to increase the amount. This was announced by Maurizio Leo, Deputy Minister of Economy, at a hearing in the joint Finance committees of the Chamber and Senate. According to Leo, an “extraordinary salary” such as “the thirteenth” could be subject to “lower taxation to put more money in Italians’ pockets in the last month of the year.” If the manager’s idea comes true, employees can find themselves some kind of bonus on their paycheck. No one can say how long that will be. Of course, this is still a suggestion. So much so that the deputy minister himself has begun to explain that it will be necessary to verify the sources on the table.

During the trial, Leo spoke extensively about tax reform. To find the necessary resources for the revision of personal income tax (which provides only 3 rates), it will be necessary to influence tax expenditures, starting with the “most relevant item”, namely tax credits. “Today – said the deputy minister – we have 227 loans worth about 36 billion euros, I think we can clear them to put the saved resources at the service of the reduction of Irpef”.

Then he added: “We have to remove the cuts, we have 43 cuts today, you can do some pruning to see which ones make sense and which can be eliminated”. And then, Leo concluded, “we have to influence the cuts,” which is 47. To implement the Irpef reform, the deputy minister said, “we will need to work on the brackets, so” starting in 2024, “the brackets have been compared and the three ratios” gradually “to get us to three”.
