For example, in Colombia there are several entities that have adapted their sustainability models to be in line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and while the challenges are increasing every day, a sustainable country and a sustainable world is the overall goal.
Precisely, the Porvenir Pension and Severance Fund, in its commitment to the culture of transparency and building trust with its members, retirees and employees, recently presented its third sustainability report under the guidelines of the Global reporting initiative (GRI), in which this document summarizes the main actions and results of the company with regard to its economic, social and environmental performance in 2022.
With the publication and dissemination of this third sustainability report under the GRI standard, which can be accessed here, Porvenir provides detailed information on relevant topics such as investments, corporate governance actions, ethics and anti-corruption; sustainable procurement, responsible investment, digital innovation, financial education, environmental responsibility, among others.
Global reporting initiative (GRI) is an organization whose purpose is to prepare reports of sustainability in all kinds of organizations.
For the Porvenir fund, presenting its sustainability management report according to these guidelines becomes the best accountability exercise to demonstrate the company’s transparency and corporate values.
Likewise, for the AFP, these issues are a fundamental part of its business model, and this is evidenced by advances in corporate governance, work environment, corporate social responsibility policies, environmental stewardship, and community practices.
In addition to communicating the management conducted from the aforementioned fronts that measure their contribution to society, it is an input so that the more than 14.5 million members, more than 2,000 employees and 1,500 suppliers can be aware of the accessions , recognitions and initiatives that the company has implemented in 2022.
Among these are the accession to the United Nations Global Compact and the recognition received by the Financial supervision of Colombia with the Financial Education seal of approval with the ‘Savings Academy’ program, becoming the first AFP to receive this certification.
Porvenir was also recognized as the best place to work for women in Colombia, placing this fund at position 7 on the list of “The Best Places to Work in Latin America 2022”, making it the only Colombian company to occupy one of the first 10 positions .
