Aiming to announce successful strategies at the international level that can be applied in Barranquilla and in the Atlantic Ocean to ensure that business travelers extend their stay here and enjoy the entertainment or leisure offerings that these destinations offer them, on May 31 the meeting “Let’s talk about Tourism” is held in Barranquilla.
The meeting is aimed at companies that are part of the value chain of the Cluster Events and Business Tourism, TEN, and the Cluster Bleisure, Business+Leisure, and is convened by the so-called Destination Team, set up six years ago by the Mayor and aldermen. Office, the Government of the Atlantic, ProBarranquilla and the Chamber of Commerce of Barranquilla.
The opening will be done by the Executive President of the CCB, Manuel Fernández Ariza, who will present the strategy of Barranquilla and the Atlantic Ocean as a destination for events and business + leisure, to promote the competitiveness, prosperity and sustainability of the business fabric of the tourism industry value chain.
Subsequently, José Ángel Díaz Rebolledo will step in and share the success story of the Destination Management strategy: Magical Towns, a program implemented in Mexico to create opportunities for economic and social development through tourism, with the potentiation of the intrinsic activities of destination and community participation.
Next is Rômulo Soares, president of the Winds for Future Institute, from Fortaleza, Brazil, who shares the Economy of the Sea strategy: water sports as a tourism engine, implemented to attract adventure tourism by taking advantage of the climatic conditions of the destination, the constant and strong wind always oriented in the same direction, the depth of the water and its environment between the sea, lagoons and dunes.
The national representation will be with Gilberto Salcedo, Vice President of Tourism of Procolombia, who will refer to the supply and demand of this industry in the Colombian Caribbean. And the local will be Pamela Lozano, presenting Winds and Local Culture: The Commitment to Sustainability in the Atlantic, Focusing on Strengthening Destination, Economic Development and Community Participation.
The meeting will take place at Hotel Movich, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
