The firms Arquitectura & Concreto, AED, Renta Urbana and Urbanum have announced the construction of a new shopping center in the north of Cartagena, which will become one of the largest on the Caribbean coast.
Located in Azul de Arenas, in the north of Cartagena, it will have more than 110,000 square meters GFA (according to the abbreviation in English that represents the rentable area of the mall) and mixed use for commerce, hotels, business premises and health alternatives which will be implemented in phases.
A Crystal Lagoon will star in the design designed to provide visitors with the best experience and various entertainment and leisure alternatives.
As partners and managers, Arquitectura & Concreto, AED, Renta Urbana and Urbanum will be responsible for project management support. In addition, the team of experts for the project includes Contexto Urbano, who will be responsible for developing the detailed and final design.
Gensler will also participate as responsible for the conceptual design and masterplan of the mall, a firm recognized as one of the most relevant architectural in the world.

According to the project management companies, the urban planning of the shopping center and Azul de Arenas (where it will be located) will be a benchmark in terms of design and sustainability, because in addition to the best experience in which visitors will have nature and the lagoon of crystal clear waters will be the protagonists be, it will be developed according to the principles of sustainability and will be certified by Sustainable SITES, international certification will be granted to the urban planning of the project and its buildings to meet high standards regarding soil, water and vegetation management, as well as the materials and innovation used in its construction, among other aspects that guarantee respect for the natural environment in which the project is located.
