BMV suspends listing of TV Azteca due to lack of financial report

The Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV) has suspended the listing of TV channel Azteca, owned by businessman Ricardo Salinas Pliego, following the broadcaster’s 2023 quarterly financial disclosure deadline.

In May last year, Azteca reported that the court ordered it not to publish information about its financial situation in order not to cause uncertainty. Both the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV) and the National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV) were notified of this.

On June 1, the Stock Exchange released a statement saying:

“This stock exchange, in accordance with the provisions of article 248, part I of the Law on the Securities Market and regulation 10.015.01 of its Internal Regulations, suspends from today, June 1, 2023, the listing of securities of the representative capital of the station called TV Azteca, identified by the ticker AZTECA, Series CPO.

The stock exchange indicated that on April 28 and May 2, it received a belated notice to provide financial information for the first quarter of 2023 from Azteca.

However, after an additional period and due to the fact that the channel did not provide its information, the stock exchange suspended the listing of TV Azteca.

“It is reported that, due to the provisions of clause 10.015.02 of the Internal Rules of this Stock Exchange, the listing suspension specified in this notice may continue until the issuer discloses the missing information,” the message says. adds the stock exchange statement.
