Warning effects due to possible tariff on the sale of electric vehicles

According to the National Association for Sustainable Mobility (Andemos), it is interpreted that the benefits currently granted by Decree 2051 of 2019 to the free entry of electric vehicles coming from those countries with which Colombia does not have commercial agreements, such as China and Japan, which is a strong recoil for the energy transition of the sector.

“Although it is necessary to look for innovative and sustainable solutions to promote economic development and the economy reindustrializationAndemos believes that the progress made in the energy transition of the sector should not be jeopardized, where Colombia has a regional benchmark thanks to the incentive policy for hybrid and electric vehicles. Despite these major achievements, the penetration of hybrid vehicles and electric does not reach 1% of the country’s car fleet,” said Oliverio García, president of Andemos.
