Recruitment for the next round of government support for energy-intensive industries is scheduled to start in August, the Ministry of Development and Technology announced.
This time, companies from across the mining and industrial processing sector can apply for support. There is no less than PLN 5.5 billion in the pool. About 3,000 people are eligible to participate in the program. businesses.
The program “Support to the energy-intensive industry in relation to natural gas and electricity prices in 2023”, on the basis of which the funds will be disbursed, was announced on August 8 this year. adopted by the government. The aid is intended to mitigate the impact of rising electricity and gas prices, help maintain business continuity and preserve jobs.
Negative effects of the energy crisis
– Polish industry is still experiencing the negative effects of the energy crisis caused by the actions of Russia and the war in Ukraine. Despite the current market prices of energy and gas falling, a significant number of companies are affiliated with suppliers with long-term contracts, based on much higher prices than last year. The associated costs threaten the financial liquidity of many companies in the industrial sector. Hence, support is also directed to energy-intensive industries this year – announced the head of the Ministry of Development and Technology Waldemar Buda.
– We listen carefully to the voice of entrepreneurs, which is why we have expanded the group of companies that can request help with this recruitment. These are all energy-intensive companies from sections B and C of the PKD, according to the minister.
Business support will be provided by the Ministry of Development and Technology and the program executor will be the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW).
Government assistance. Call for proposals
The planned start of the call for proposals is August 2023, after receipt of the notification from the European Commission. Entrepreneurs have 14 days (from the date of the recruitment announcement) to apply. Applications are signed with a qualified signature. Applications for support will be submitted electronically on the NFOŚiGW website. The budget of the program is as much as PLN 5.5 billion.
The money will be paid within two months after the start of the recruitment process.
