Mark Zuckerberg denied Elon Musk after the owner of X (formerly Twitter) stated that the fight between the two had already been coordinated to take place in cage in Rome, Italy.
Meta’s CEO indicated that what Musk said was a lie and that the details of the fight are still being discussed.
“I love this sport and have been ready to fight since the day Elon challenged me. If he ever agrees to a date, they will know about it from me. Until then, please consider that everything I say has not been agreed upon.”
On his new Threads social network, Zuckerberg confirmed that he would share information about the fight himself when he was ready.
“I’m not waiting for Elon, but I’ll share details about my next fight when I’m ready. When I compete, I want to do it in a way that draws attention to the top elite athletes.
“This is achieved by working with professional organizations like the UFC or ONE who do it well and make great cards.”
Italy is an ‘epic place’ to fight
Earlier this Friday, Musk announced that the fight with Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, would take place in Italy in agreement with the country’s prime minister, Georgia Meloni, and the Italian Ministry of Culture.
“I spoke with the Prime Minister of Italy and the Minister of Culture. They agreed on an epic location,” the Tesla owner wrote on social media.
“Everything in the camera picture will be from ancient Rome, so nothing modern,” he added.
Likewise, it will be streamed live on Platform X, formerly known as Twitter, and also on Meta.
Since June, the two social media moguls have been goading each other into a mixed martial arts cage match in Las Vegas.
The trouble began when Musk said in a June 20 post that he was “ready for a cage match” with Zuckerberg, who trains in jiu-jitsu.
A day later, Zuckerberg, 39, who posted pictures of matches he won on his company’s Instagram platform, asked Musk, 51, to “send in a venue” for the proposed match, to which Musk replied, “The octagon in Las Vegas, referring to the center of the action.” where the fights of the championship in mixed martial arts are held.
Musk then said that he would start training if the cage match started.
The two moguls have since commented on the bout, though nothing has been confirmed yet. (According to Reuters)
