During PO-PSL’s reign, about 1,000 state entities were sold out. Law and Justice has a different policy – says Rafał Bochenek.
A press conference was held on Tuesday morning with the participation of PiS spokesman Rafał Bochenek and government spokesman Piotr Müller on the first question in the referendum scheduled for October 15. Politicians met the media in front of Bank Pekao headquarters.
– We would like to refer to the first referendum question on the sale of state-owned enterprises. This is a very important question because of what happened to state property until 2015. During PO-PSL’s reign, about 1,000 state entities were sold out. Law and Justice has a different policy than our predecessors. We are pursuing a policy aimed at strengthening the Polish economy and banking system. State-owned banks are reliable time vehicles with which to carry out ambitious projects. Thanks to Law and Justice policies, the state controls most of Poland’s banking sector. This guarantees the stability of the Polish economy – said Rafał Bochenek.
“Capital has a nationality”
The government spokesman noted that “the fact that Bank Pekao has been appropriately repolonized shows how important the banking sector is.” – Thanks to these activities, we were able to help entrepreneurs quickly and withdraw money under the COVID-19. 2 percent loan for a flat can also be realized thanks to the activity of state banks. We know that capital has a nationality, which is why such important entities should be in Polish hands. But what matters is why the opposition is boycotting the referendum? If the referendum is valid, they cannot implement their policies from years ago in the future. We encourage you to take part in the referendum, Müller stressed.
– Civic Platform politicians and their experts do not hide that they will carry out the sale of large state-owned companies. But it is the large state-owned companies that ensure that the Polish economy is strong said a government spokesman.
