We have a year of record increases in education subsidies, Education and Science Minister Przemysław Czarnek said on Thursday.
The 2023/2024 school year exceptionally does not start on September 1, because it falls on a Friday, but on September 4.
– Over the past seven years, the salaries of the lowest paid teachers have increased by 76%, and those of the highest paid by 47%. The government has provided local governments with PLN 13.7 billion for investments in education. While our predecessors donated PLN 2.9 billion. Czarnek: We’re having a record year

The head of the Ministry of Education and Science also noted that the 2023/2024 school year will be “a year of absolutely exceptional investment”.
Free laptops for students
On July 14, President Andrzej Duda signed the law to support the development of digital competences of students and teachers. The action will be implemented from school year 2023/2024.
Every year, the office of the minister responsible for computerization will make a central purchase based on figures from the minister responsible for education and upbringing. The laptops are then delivered to the school boards, who transfer ownership of the equipment to the parents of the fourth-grade students of the primary school. Laptops obtained by law will not be sold for a period of five years.
