The EU Commissioner for Agriculture, Janusz Wojciechowski, provided data on grain exports from Ukraine in August.
“We have new data from August 2023 – Ukraine exported a record 4 million tons of grain through solidarity corridors (i.e. transit across the borders and territories of RO, PL, HU and SK)! Even though there was a ‘border’ ban. And before the ban, it exported 2.9 million tons per month,” Wojciechowski points out. This means that despite Kiev’s rhetoric, the embargo imposed by Poland, among others, has not led to the collapse of agriculture in Ukraine.
The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development referred to this data. “Commissioner, thank you for another hard data!!! The solidarity corridors are working and the EU wants to spoil this for us. We will not allow this!!!!” – wrote Robert Telus on social media.

The survey was conducted by research agency SW Research among users of the SW Panel online panel on September 19-20, 2023. The analysis covered a group of 800 internet users over the age of 18.
Poland, Slovakia and Hungary announced national restrictions on imports of Ukrainian grain last week, after the European Commission decided to lift the embargo on agricultural products from Ukraine. In response, Kiev filed a complaint against these three countries with the World Trade Organization (WTO).
The crisis in Polish-Ukrainian relations intensified after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky attacked Poland during his speech to the UN General Assembly, saying: “It is disturbing how some of our friends in Europe are playing solidarity in the political theater through a thriller to do with grain. They may appear to be playing their own role, but in fact they are helping to set the stage for the Moscow actor.”
