Crude palm oil exports rise

The export of crude palm oil from Colombia amounted to 198,000 tons between January and March of this year. According to the National Federation of Oil Palm Growers (Fedepalma), this represents a 36% increase from the first quarter of 2021.

The palm federation emphasizes that only in March the external sales of this product reached 88 thousand tons.

He points out that the good production performance has enabled the palm sector to serve both the local and export markets.

Sales of palm oil on the domestic market reached a record figure of 118 thousand tons in March and 318 thousand tons in the first quarter, an increase of 11% compared to the same period in 2021.

The nationwide production served all segments of the local market: biodiesel, traditional food industry, animal concentrates and other industries.
