The sector grew by 10.7% in February

The industrial production growth in Colombia in February this year was 10.7% compared to the same month of 2021, compared to February 2020 before the arrival of the pandemic, the increase was 6.2%.

Both the real turnover of the industry and the employed staff increased by 11.1% and 4.6%.

The activity that contributed most to the industry’s growth in February was the beverage industry subsector, which saw production increase by 13.4%, while coke, oil refining and fuel blending were the largest negative contributors. a variation of -5.5%.

This data is contextualized by a 0.4 point decline in the Business Confidence Indicator compared to February 2022 of 62.7%.

Retail sales, for their part, were up 4.9% compared to February last year, while the workforce grew by 2.2%.

The income of the housing sector grew by 84.6% in February compared to the same month of 2021 and the employed staff increased by 27%.

This is shown by the results of the monthly survey of the economic activities of the National Administrative Service for Statistics (DANE).
