Great success from BTP Valore: The record of the first issue was almost reached

Almost record numbers were generated in the second issue of BTP Valore, the government bond dedicated to small savers and providing a large final loyalty bonus on invested capital. The placement, which started last October 2, ended today, Friday, October 6, 2023, with 17,190,004 million euros collected and 641,881 contracts registered. The Ministry of Economy announces the exact data, recalling the novelty of this second issue: quarterly coupons.

This is the second-best result ever among the Treasury’s retail issues (Btp Italia, Futura and Valore), after the first Btp Valore last June, which raised 18.19 billion euros across 654,675 contracts.

Btp Value: approved rates

The maturity of the bond will be 5 years and will guarantee increasing returns over time, but above all there will be a maximum final loyalty bonus equal to 0.5% of the invested capital for those who decide to hold the bond until maturity. The security’s exact annual rates were conveyed, confirming those announced last September 29:

  • 4.10% for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd years;
  • 4.50% for the 4th and 5th years.

Why was it successful? Small investors, who are the most risk-averse, decided to invest in BTP Valore by choosing a capital-guaranteed financial instrument to protect their savings from inflation due to the strong geopolitical and economic uncertainty we are experiencing.
