The period for changing installments on tax invoices is running out: what to do

Taxpayers participating in the quarter scrapping process have the opportunity to change the payment schedule for their tax bills, but be careful, time is running out. As stated by the Revenue Administration, the application must be sent by tomorrow, Tuesday, October 10. After 3.8 million letters regarding the amounts owed were received by applicants as of June 30, it is possible to decide on the selected number of installments via e-mail in order to comply with the first technical deadlines. (or single) payment due date is scheduled for October 31st.

Scrapping a quarter: what to do to change installments

As stated on the institution’s website, it is possible to report errors made by the applicant in the application through the “Send e-mail to the Taxpayers Service” service, which includes the attachment “Transmitting the amounts to be paid along with the compensation documents”. Membership application stage regarding the selection of the area regarding the request for the payment to be made in a “single solution” instead of the maximum number determined by law. In this case, only the reports will arrive no later than October 10, 2023, taking into account the technical times required for reprocessing and transmission/delivery of the new payment plan, to meet the deadline of October 31, 2023 for the first installment. The Revenue Administration announced that it completed the transfer of the amounts to be paid to those who signed one quarter of the tax laws introduced by the Budget Law No. 2023 (n. 197/) at the end of September. 2022). The letters include the outcome of the request, a list of canceled debts and the amount to be paid.

Payment plan and result of the request

If the extension plan includes more than 10 installments, the first 10 payment forms will be sent along with the letter, while the remaining payment forms will be sent later before the eleventh installment expires. Communications are defined by the outcome of the request:

  • For full acceptance;
  • Ap in case of partial acceptance (in case there are also External Affairs and Governance Media Relations 2 debts that have not been scrapped);
  • Advertising for memberships with “collectible” debts but no amount due;
  • Ax for memberships with “dischargeable” debts for which nothing needs to be paid and the remaining amount due for “unidentified” debts;
  • Finally, RI concerns memberships that are rejected on the grounds that the debts stated in the application are not “undischargeable” and therefore the amount must be paid without concessions.

For persons residing in areas affected by floods last May (set out in Annex 1 to Decree Law No. 61/2023, amended by Law No. 100/2023), the periods and deadlines referring to the facilitated definition are three months. Therefore, the payment of the amounts due will be completed by December 31.
